S I X.

HALF A YEAR!?

well, this has flown by.

millie's favorite things:

- holding any toy or object (the best toys aren't toys at all, amiright?) to her ear. (how does she know? i swear i hardly talk on the phone.)
- slapping her thigh when something is especially amusing.
- mama. she has severe separation anxiety lately.
- raspberries. the blown kind.
- splashing in the bath. (have i mentioned how much this girl loves the bath/water?! fish.)
- fake coughing. (which is pretty much the cutest thing ever.)

thank you for the best 6 months of my life, kiddo. you're the best thing i've ever done.

F I V E

SO! millie's five month update is a little late because, well, just because. my family came and visited us at the beginning of the month and i'm just now deciding to get caught up with things.

anyhow, mil has recently perfected the art of sitting up. straight up. i can't believe my little babe is already here. sitting. geesh.

she also has begun giving big slobbery kisses. you'll be holding her and all of a sudden she decides she needs to plant a big one on your cheek. she gets real excited about it, too. so much so that she'll practically gouge your eye out and tug on your ear reeeal good in the process. it's the best.

i think she must think that frequent kisses anywhere and everywhere are completely and totally normal (which, i suppose for an infant it is). at night when we're winding down for bed, she'll be sitting on my lap and without any notice, she'll bend in half to give my belly some baby kissin' lovin'. i like to think she's thanking that belly of mine for carrying her around for so long.

this mama stuff just keeps getting better, i tell ya.

perfection

yesterday afternoon i as i walked past the open bedroom door i noticed my no longer napping baby quietly playing with her hands, staring at the window. no peeps were made to let me know that she was awake or ready to be in my company.

i slowly walked to her little body on our big bed. when our eyes met, her face lit up. i gave her a few kisses, picked her up and kissed her some more, and noticed the sound of rain through the fireplace quietly pattering on the roof.

we stepped outside. the smell of rain on the concrete filled our noses. just her and i and the rain. the street was quiet aside from a young biker peddling to his destination down the road. she smiled up at me, put her chubby little hand on the balcony railing, and sighed as she put her head on my chest and watched the leaves sway in the wind.

these moments are the ones i live for.

here are some unrelated photos of us earlier this afternoon. we walked downtown for some lunch before matt went to work, and took the scenic route through temple square home. we played tourist for a few minutes, as we sometimes do. it was a beautiful day.

F O U R

When we were visiting our families in California, we planned a little photo sesh with my sister and her new camera baby. We went out Matt's Grandma's place and snapped a few photos of our little family because you just need do things like that when you have a cute family that you want to document to remember for-eva.

So here she is. Our four month old little beauty. She loves to squeal until she looks like she's going to pop, and smile at everyone, and observe everything going on around her.

Amelia and her cute cousin Nathan
(how is he almost two!?)

I sure do love this family of mine.

T H R E E

three months old.

i feel like three months is some kind of milestone or sorts. matt and i have officially kept our little person alive for a quarter of a year.

she has mastered the art of holding her head up on her own and is slowly coming around to tummy time. she loves to smile and charm anyone who meets her inquisitive stare. especially men.

she's my favorite.

Easter

Our Easter Sunday was terribly uneventful, and oh so wonderful. As our first "real" holiday (unless you count Valentine's Day, which I have mixed feelings about) as a family, we loved up every little second. We wandered to church, made it through two out of three meetings, which I'll consider a win considering the tiny human who is now in charge of us. We came home and did what made sense to be done on out Easter Sunday and napped like champs, gave Millie her Easter basket of infant-appropriate goodies, and has a couple little cyber-dates with our families.

Now, let me tell you.

Holidays are a bazillion times better when you have a chubby baby to celebrate with. I mean, I love me any excuse to browse the baby section even if going outside the house to do anything is a huge excursion now. Showering, getting myself ready, and trying to figure out the best way to get around a baby's sleep schedule is exhausting in and of itself. But, hey. I wouldn't have it any other way, really.

So we snapped a couple photos to commemorate our Easter because that's what seems to be the proper thing to do, and here they are.

^^^ We clearly ventured way out of our ways to snap some incredible pictures... oh, lazy days.

^^^ Please excuse the crazy baggage under my eyes. I've been sleeping, I promise. But more importantly, that chubby face (hers, not mine)! Could you not want to eat it up?!

Happy Easter, all!

T W O

two. months. old.

yikes!

Amelia likes to sleep, eat, and be crazy cute. She is also a fan of staying up really late and screaming, but only on the nights that her pops has to get up crazy early in the morning.
